NDIS Provider Quality Manager Certificate of Competency

Quality Managers are true professionals who are ultimately accountable for the Quality Management System (QMS). They play a vital role in maintaining NDIS registration while continuously improving the services and outcomes for NDIS participants. NQS is improving the professional status of NDIS Quality Managers through a mentoring and competency scheme.

NDIS Quality Manager Mentoring and Competency Scheme

The first of its kind in Australia, an NQS Certificate of Competency is proof of the level you have attained in quality principles and practices.

As a Quality Manager working in the NDIS sector, a Certificate of Competency demonstrates that your knowledge and skills have been assessed to a recognised standard. This will benefit you in your current role and help with future career advancement. NDIS providers are very likely to support your mission to obtain the Certificate because it gives them the kudos of having an NQS-recognised Quality Manager on board. This shows their commitment to quality practices.

How Does the Scheme Work?

The scheme consists of the development of an organisational Quality Management Plan whilst supporting the NDIS Quality Manager through two virtual training and coaching sessions on an annual basis with continual email support.

The application stage assesses qualifications and experience to determine the starting level.

Certificate of Competency - Level 1 - Quality Principles and Practices

Upon joining the scheme, you will be awarded a Certificate of Participation.

0-12 months: After completing the 12-month activities in the Quality Management Plan, including core quality principles and practices, successful candidates will be awarded a Level 1 NDIS Quality Manager Certificate of Competency.

Certificate of Competency - Level 2 - Enhanced Quality Principles and Practices

12-24 months: After completing the 12-month activities in the Quality Management Plan, which must include enhanced quality principles and practices, successful candidates will be awarded a Level 2 NDIS Quality Manager Certificate of Competency.

Certificate of Competency - Level 3 - High Performance Quality Manager

24-36 months: After completing the 12-month activities in the Quality Management Plan, which must include best practice and highly enhanced quality principles and practices, successful candidates will be awarded a Level 3 NDIS Quality Manager Certificate of Competency.

NDIS Quality - Continuous Professional Development

After 36 months, you will have achieved the highest level of competency. Mirroring the continuing improvement that is central to the quality ethos, NQS will offer annual ongoing professional development activities.
